Don’t be surprised if you see electric vehicle charging stations popping up along the highways in your hometown. All 50 states have now received final federal approval to begin construction on the first-ever nationwide network of electric vehicle charging stations. Under the plan, an EV charging station will be erected roughly every 50 miles along interstate highways. It’s all part of the Biden administration’s plan to inspire car buyers to go electric in the next decade. That’s a whopping $5 billion over five years to install (or upgrade) EV chargers along 75,000 miles of highway from the East Coast to the West Coast. The goal is to have 500,000 EV chargers nationwide. Plans for the other 33 states and the District of Columbia had already been approved. That means that by the end of this year you could start noticing the expansions and upgrades to existing highway electric vehicle charging stations in places like Texas, California, and Missouri, just to name a few states.
