Porsche Palm Springs is proud to present this exceptional Pre-Owned 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera RS, finished in original Maritime Blue over Black with body-color seat shells.

Porsche built the 964 Carrera RS to homologate a lighter, faster 911 for N/GT racing, which required 1,000 cars to be produced within twelve months. Developed from the Carrera Cup car, it featured a seam-welded shell, aluminum hood, magnesium Cup wheels, thin door glass, no air conditioning, no power windows, and no rear seats. Approximately 2,282 examples were built, with roughly 1,900 produced in this stripped-down Lightweight specification. None were federalized for sale in the United States.

Delivered new through Porsche Zentrum Koln on November 10, 1992, this example presents as a matching-numbers car, with engine number 62N80702 appearing in both the factory build record and on the engine case. A Porsche Classic Certificate of Technical Correctness is being commissioned, with its findings to be shared with the purchaser.

Heritage and Provenance:

This Carrera RS spent three decades in Germany and Switzerland and was serviced by Porsche Centers. It retains its Fahrzeugbrief, stamped service book, and RS-specific Anhang zur Betriebsanleitung owner's manual supplement. It was also graded 2+ twice by a certified BVSK expert. Odometer readings progress consistently from 39,000 km in 1997 to 91,971 km, corroborated by invoices and certificates.

Engine and Performance:

The M64/03 is the RS-specific engine, producing 191 kW and paired with a lightweight flywheel, close-ratio G50/10 five-speed transmission, and asymmetric limited-slip differential. In 2001, Lasner Motorsport of Bavaria, specializing in racing 911s and competition components, fitted its HF-Kit with camshafts and dyno-developed mapping. The result is stronger performance through the middle and upper rev range while retaining factory displacement. Compression measures a healthy 165 to 176 psi.

Recent Service:

In May 2026, the car completed a comprehensive service program at Goritz SIXFIX of Fountain Valley, a respected California air-cooled Porsche specialist. The engine and transmission were removed for a full reseal, addressing valve cover, chain cover, and rocker shaft seepage. While the engine was out, the clutch, pressure plate, bearings, and transmission mount were renewed. The shifter was rebuilt, and the suspension was refreshed with new bushings and an alignment.

The magnesium Cup wheels underwent a nine-month specialist restoration, being stripped to bare metal and chemically converted rather than blasted and powder-coated. In June 2026, the car earned First in Class at the PCA Orange Coast White Glove Concours.
