Gated Manual Transmission Conversion
The centerpiece of this Murcielago is its gated manual transmission conversion, transforming the driving experience from automated shifting to the direct mechanical engagement of a traditional manual gearbox. Each gear change is accompanied by the precise movement of the shifter through the exposed metal gate, creating the tactile interaction and unmistakable soundtrack enthusiasts associate with Lamborghinis greatest analog-era automobiles.
This LP640 was originally equipped with Lamborghinis E-Gear transmission and has since been converted to a gated manual configuration. It is therefore correctly represented as a gated transmission conversion, rather than a factory-produced gated-manual example.
Factory manual LP640 models were produced in extremely limited numbers and are among the most coveted Murcielagos in the collector market. A properly executed gated conversion captures much of that involvement and emotional appeal while providing access to a configuration that is exceptionally difficult to obtain in original form.
For many enthusiasts, the ability to manually control Lamborghinis naturally aspirated V12 makes a converted LP640 considerably more compelling than a comparable E-Gear example. Interior
