Lamborghini has stopped production of a legendary supercar and says farewell to the Aventador with the final Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae Roadster. Here's Why this Iconic Supercar Took Over the Auto Industry for Over a Decade. It’s the very last pure, naturally-aspirated V12 Lamborghini to be produced in Sant’Agata Bolognese. First unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 11 years ago as the Aventador LP 700-4, the name refers to its 700 horsepower and permanent four-wheel drive. Laborghini Aventador. Power. Luxury. Performance. With an engine mounted longways at the rear - aka Longitudinale Posteriore -  the Aventador brought to the market several important new technologies as well as a classic design and, of course, incredible performance. And it was, of course, featured in many films and videos. “The Lamborghini Aventador was a game-changer at its launch, and the flagship Lamborghini model for 11 years of production,” Winkelmann said recently. “The V12 engine has been part of Lamborghini’s heritage since the company’s earliest days; the beating heart of models from Miura to Diablo, Countach to Murciélago. The Aventador captured Lamborghini’s competencies in design and engineering when it debuted in 2011, with Lamborghini values that are always at the center of the company and product impetus: pure, futuristic design; benchmarking performance; and addressing technical challenges with innovation to produce the most emotive, class-leading super sports cars. On first glance you might be wondering if it’s a Lego or a Lamborghini. It’s actually Lego's Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 – and it’s full size and made of 400,000 pieces. That’s a lot of Lego pieces. So many that it took a whopping 8,600 hours of labor to create the one-of-a-kind Lamborghini Sian FKP 37. Is it a Lego or a Lamborghini? It's The Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 It’s in fact a promotional Lego hypercar – a full-scale version of the Sián FKP 37. Lego assembled just 154 different shaped pieces to make the Sián. That includes 20 components that are unique to the model. On top of the pieces, the model uses a special UV coating paint to match the look of the commercially available Sián set Lego released last year that retails for $379. It's every 9-year-old’s dream! A Small Model of The Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 A crew of 15 people toiled for 8660 hours to create and build the very special Lamborghini model. They also created an interactive digital version available only in a virtual Lego workshop. Automobile lovers estimated that it would cost about $40,000 to re-create the life-size Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 that the Lego Group built as a special model for Automobili Lamborghini. It weighs about 4,850 pounds and the plastic Sián is nearly identical to the real hypercar. Both cars are 196 inches long, 83 inches wide, and 45 inches tall, according to Lamborghini. The Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 Lego Model This is the first large-scale Lego model that employed a "paintbrush-effect UV color coating," which was actually applied in Lamborghini's very own paint shop. You can’t get your hands on one of the big ones but you can still get your hands on that 1:8-scale Sián FKP 37 Lego Technic building kit for $379. (Expensive for a Lego but not bad for a Lambo – the actual Sián retails for $3 million). So what are those 20 unique pieces that make this Lego Lamborghini hypercar impossible to recreate? The Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 They include Technic hexagons that were used to pay "homage to the six-sided shape that is integral to Lamborghini's design language," Lamborghini said in a statement. Sián means "flash" or "lightning" in the Bolognese dialect, according to the Italian automaker, and the Lego model mirrors the actual car matching the startup lighting signature using Technic pieces. “Our designers love a challenge, so they were enthusiastic to literally think on a larger scale with this model,” said Lena Dixen, Senior Vice President of Product and Marketing at LEGO Group. This shows the real car lover in Depp. The Ferrari 488 (Type F142M) is a class – if not the classic mid-engine sports car produced by the Italian automaker. The car replaced the 458, being the first mid-engine Ferrari to use a turbocharged V8 since the F40. It was succeeded by the Ferrari F8. This car is powered by a 3.9-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, smaller in displacement but generating a higher power output than the 458's naturally aspirated engine. The Italian automaker’s Aventador carries an impressive 6.5-liter V12 engine that churns out 690 horsepower and can reach a searing top speed of 217 mph and get you from zero to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. It's the perfect car for living in the Hollywood fast lane.

We all heard about the thousands of cars – many of them luxury vehicles – that literally went up in flames on a ship at sea before it sank 13 days later. The vehicles were aboard a large cargo vessel 250 miles off the coast of Portugal when a fire broke out in March of 2022. As firefighters attempted to extinguish the flames, the ship’s 22-person crew was rescued. Mercifully, no humans were hurt. But about 4,000 cars were lost. And it’s still a mystery what, exactly, caused the fire. Among those cars that were lost were the last of the Lamborghini Aventadors. The V-12 Aventador Ultimaes were the last of their kind due to the fact that the Italian automaker is actively transitioning its lineup to 100 percent hybrid/electric powertrains over the next few years. It would have been a sad ending for the luxurious supercar. They were the last in production, meaning a handful of excited buyers would have had to give up their dream of owning that particular Aventador. But not anymore. more Lamborghini has saved the day, announcing that it will restart production of the supercar in order to replace those that were lost at sea. "We put our heads together, and luckily, we are able to replace those cars, so there will be no loss for our customers in the U.S. due to the sunken ship. This is good news," CEO Stephan Winkelmann told the media during a recent news conference. He said the automaker has worked out a way to fill the orders along with those of 70 other Lamborghini vehicles that were on the ship. “The Aventador was tricky, but we made it." Roughly 4,000 cars from Volkswagen-owned brands were on the ship Felicity Ace – including not only the Lamborghini but Bentley, Porsche, and Audi models as well. The ship was on its way from Germany to Rhode Island. The car brands are working with dealerships and customers to replace the lost vehicles and find solutions for each buyer, Cameron Batten, chief communications officer for Volkswagen Group of America, told the media. Replacing the Aventadors won’t be easy, Winkelmann said, due to the fact that there’s a shortage of wiring harnesses manufactured in the Ukraine that has made it necessary to switch to other suppliers for the needed component. Production of the Aventador Ultimae had been limited to 350 coupes as well as 250 convertibles. The sinking of the Felicity Ace comes at a time when the auto industry is already suffering from a number of pandemic-related supply chain issues. Lamborghini said it will build 15 examples of its final variant, the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimate, which were among the 85 Lamborghinis lost when the ship sank. The other Lamborghinis lost, such as the Urus, are still in production. “This was the edition that was closing the production of the Aventador, and there were 15 on board of the ship,” Winkelmann told the media. “Luckily, we are able to replace those cars, so there will be no loss for our customers in the US due to the sunken ship.” The Aventador Ultimae is hand-assembled and also the last gas-powered V-12 in the Lamborghini lineup. So what do you do if the car you ordered burned on the ship? Technically, the vehicles belong to the automaker until the car is delivered to the customer – so personal insurance is not an issue. Instead, commercial insurance for vehicle manufacturers and the cargo company would come into play. Volkswagen Group maintains vendor relationships for shipping cars, not for each individual VW brand, a spokesperson for VW said recently. So now your options are to resubmit the order for the vehicle, maintain that deposit, and wait.
