Aston Martin is Getting a New Set of Wings: How a British Designer Breathed New Life into the Famous Winged Logo.

Aston Martin is known for luxurious, sporty design and powerful engines. So much so that the Aston Martin DB5 is literally considered the James Bond car by lovers of all things automotive and 007. Aston Martin's Seat Logo. And now, it seems, Aston Martin is getting a new set of wings on its logo rebrand. The British automaker recently hired famed graphic designer Peter Saville CBE to update its famous winged logo. Aston Martin's New Logo. His design changes are subtle and probably won’t overly upset those who loved the old logo. That's because the new logo respects the company’s heritage while at the same time bringing a fresh, modern look to it. The old Aston Martin logo featured a green gradient background and a semi-circular line. The old logos lines reflected the original Egyptian inspiration for the design but didn’t quite capture Aston Martin of today. Aston Martin 's Past Logo. Saville replaced those elements with a solid British racing green while thickening the lines of the new logo. It now appears bolder but also more streamlined and contemporary. The hope is that Aston Martin’s appeal will spread to younger and more international audience – while at the same time respecting the brand's heritage. “Every millimeter of each line – of each shape within the new wings, are drawn forward from the depths of our 109-year Aston Martin creative wellspring,” Aston Martin's executive vice president, Marek Reichman, told the media recently. The new Aston Martin logo will also be used in physical badges that will be made by well-known Birmingham silversmiths Vaughtons. Saville said his tweaks were "subtle but necessary” enhancements to the design that not only to keep the logo fresh but also to allow it to be applied to various formats and technologies in the future. So how did Aston Martin get those wings on its logo in the first place? Aston Martin's Back Logo. The new set of wings for the new logo, it turns out, has incorporated contemporary cues from each era of Aston Martin and has now evolved into an instantly recognizable icon worldwide. As Aston Martin launches its bold new brand identity, and updated iconic wings, the British automaker is taking a look at the early history of this iconic marque. 1920 Aston Martin's Interior Panel. Eager to build the fledgling Aston Martin brand, co-founder Lionel Martin didn't just aspire to compete with his rivals, he sought to make a different kind of car: a luxury sports car. With an interlocking 'A' and 'M' in dark green – a nod to British racing green – and its circular, button shape, the original logo was inspired by those of preeminent luxury car brands of the early 1920s. Simple yet sophisticated, the design was led by Lionel's wife, Kate Martin, and exuded elegance and style. 1921-1927 Aston Martin's Logo from 1921-1927. Except for the Coal Scuttle, the very first Aston Martin and a car raced by Kate herself, the logo was applied to every Aston Martin from 1920 to early 1927, including our first Grand Prix car, TT1, which after being sold by the team became affectionately known as 'Green Pea' owing to its color and Grand Prix – or 'GP' – racing heritage. The Roaring Twenties brought more than flapper dresses, frivolity and a cartoon mouse by the name of Mickey – the Aston Martin brand got its wings for the first time.Technological advances led to milestones in aviation that captured public imagination, such as the first non-stop transatlantic flight, and brands sought to capitalize on people's fascination with flying. Any car company with a link to aviation made it known and even those that didn't alluded to possible connections with the industry. 1927 Aston Martin's Logo in 1927. Motivated by this popular aviation trend, this year saw the introduction of the first iteration of the wings that would become synonymous with Aston Martin. The wings symbolized speed, and the 'A' and 'M' of the original logo were replaced with the company name – stylized so that the centrally positioned 'M' connected with the horizontal elements of 'T'. The designer remains a mystery to this day. Check our our latest! ASton martin inventory

The resin/pigments actually absorb and reflects their surroundings, turning the car into a part of the surroundings. "We are delighted to have collaborated with Nat Bowen to showcase the all-new McLaren Artura featuring her signature multi-layered artwork in the iconic surroundings of the ME Dubai,” Mohamed Fawzi, Market Director – Middle East & Africa, McLaren Automotive – told the media. “The exhibition received phenomenal reception from the attending guests and allowed us to successfully engage with the extremely passionate art community in Dubai and the rest of the Middle East region.” The Artura is the first series-production high-performance hybrid car for McLaren. The Ferrari Monza SP1 is one of the Most Incredible Supercars Money Can Buy – Nearly Two Million to Be Exact

The Ferrari Monza SP1 is already an icon in more ways than one. In fact, it's a showcase of the Italian automaker’s ‘Icona’ (Icon) concept Icona is where modern aesthetic is used to reinterpret a timeless style. The SP1 is a single-seater (while the nearly identical SP2 has two seats), with the driver's position situated to one side of the car. With an eye to the future, the SP1's technologically advanced components bring the highest performance possible thanks to continuous innovation. Only 499 will be built for some very special collectors - and they are already sold out. You May Also Like: They Said it Would Never Happen – but the Ferrari SUV is a Real Thing So let’s take a look at some of the incredible features that make the Ferrari Monza SP1 one of the greatest supercars of the past decades and why it sold out so quickly. The Engine The SP1's stunning bodywork is inspired by the 750 Monza and 860 Monza racing cars of the mid-1950s, referenced in the voluptuous front wing curves, those abrupt rear buttresses, and unusual seating. The 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine is front-mid-mounted and similar to that found in the Ferrari 812 Superfast but with 10 additional horsepower bringing the total to 801 horsepower and 530lb-ft of torque. It's a historical car – with a historical engine - that exists solely for you, the driver.  The SP1 comes with only one type of transmission, an F1 seven-speed dual-clutch system. With a curb weight of just under 3,310 lbs, you can get from zero to 60 in just 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 186 mph. It's a Work of Art It’s been called a car whose pure beauty looks “sculpted by the wind” and its styling elements are truly impressive. The aesthetic is futuristic but at the same time a respectful yet un-nostalgic homage to the past. Even the Monza SP1’s LED light units are a work of art – expressed as a slender light bar instead of quad round lenses at the rear. The turbine-spoke wheels are a fresh take that is not found on any other Ferrari model. Inside and out, Ferrari engineers succeeded beautifully in using a modern aesthetic to reinterpret a timeless style, all while including high-tech components and the highest performance possible The Virtual Windshield The Ferrari Monza SP1 has no windows or roof – and it also has no windshield. Instead, it has what the Italian automaker calls a "virtual windshield." Instead of a glass windshield or screen, Ferrari has developed an airflow system designed to carry out the same function of a windshield. As the car moves, air is sucked in through the intake at the front of the car, then channeled to an upwards-facing vent that's located in front of the driver's seat, creating the windshield-like barrier. It Only Has One Seat This is one of the most unique features on the SP1. Ferrari gave the car a single seat made of carbon fiber to keep weight at a minimum. To get into the car the driver lifts up a small door and hops over a sill before lowering himself/herself into the driver’s seat. Once inside you are ready for incredible driving thrills as you bask in the gorgeous leather upholstery. But don’t plan on bringing a friend! For that, you will need to invest in the two-seater SP2, which is almost identical. The idea to make an extreme car with a single seat is rooted deeply in Ferrari’s history. The Barchetta design is the basis for many of the automaker’s racing cars from the '50s, which look similar to the design of the Monza SP1. And that is exactly what the Ferrari designers had in mind. The Interior is a Classic The interior of the SP1 is based Upon the 812. Lovers of all things Ferrari will recognize it as being similar to the classic 812. In fact, it employs the same chassis as the stock 812 as well as an identical engine. You may also spot many similar mechanical components and the overall interior look is similar. Starting price: of $1.8 million. Discover our inventory: ferrari for sale

The British company is known for building luxurious high-performing sports cars with engines in the front. But now a mid-engine future is coming right up. And that future is included in the new Vanquish. Many believe the 2024 Vanquish will share its basic layout with the same generation of Valhalla and Valkyrie supercars. But it won’t cost millions of dollars and it won’t be limited in production numbers. That’s exciting news! The Vanquish will feature a new hybrid V-8 powertrain. And that new engine will now be located behind the driver. Aston Martin says it plans to introduce three mid-engine models, which include the next generation of the Vanquish.  Moreover, writers at Autocar confirm that the Vanquish will eschew the originally planned in-house V6 in favor of AMG power. Specifically, it'll switch to Affalterbach's twin-turbo V8 installed in the larger high-performance German models. And Car & Driver predicts the Vanquish could have a roofless version. The iX1, BMW's Most Affordable All- Electric SUV Ever, is Coming in 2023!

The 2023 BMW iX1 is coming. And you can expect it to be an affordable all-electric SUV and have a driving range of close to 300 miles. BMW has only released a spy-pic image of its electric-powered iX1 SUV. The iX1 is intended as a relatively affordable, practical electric vehicle. With the iX1 BMW is offering an electric SUV that many families will find within reach and highly practical. The new iX1 will be the entry level SUV for the Munich-based automaker’s electric SUV range. It will be linked to the latest generation of ICE-powered X1, which is due to make its debut at the end of this year. more The latest image released by the German carmaker shows traditional BMW styling along with some newer design cues. For instance, the iconic BMW kidney grille is more square with more compact dimensions than the new BMW i7 and iX. Additionally, there’s a new blue trim line surrounding those dimensions that’s akin to those on the i3. What's more you can expect the trademark dual headlight design used on most BMW models. Check Out: BMW’s Innovative Gesture Control Technology Sets the Industry Standard The current X1 range received a facelift three years ago - so this is a natural evolution of sorts. Specifications for the iX1 have not yet been confirmed to the public but you can expect it to be a reworked version of the X1’s current UKL platform. The BMW iX1 is likely to feature the company’s next-generation EV system and is expected to work with a 210kW motor as required. The battery technology should allow EV’s range be beyond198 miles. The iX1 will employ the “Power of Choice” of the next 5 Series and 7 Series. That means that along with the EV there will likely be gas- and diesel-powered mild-hybrid options, plus a plug-in hybrid model. It could be close in appearance to the new X1, with the only noticeable differences being a slightly reworked radiator grille and re-shaped rear valance that removes the unneeded exhaust cutout. The spy pics suggest the production iX1 could have a couple of blue highlights as well as aerodynamic alloy wheels. Best of all: It will have its own unique badges to signal its eco-friendly status. It’s all part of BMW’s stated goal of lowering its supply chain CO2 emissions in 2030 by 20 percent over 2019. That means a full 80 percent drop in emissions from its factories and other facilities by the same year. BMW plans to deliver 2 million fully electric vehicles to the worldwide market by the end of 2025. And five years after that it intends to have a minimum of 50 percent of its global deliveries to be BEVs. Although only a little has been confirmed about the iX1, we do know that it will drive close to 300 miles on a single charge. And it will integrate BMW’s s fifth-generation eDrive technology. Here’s everything else we know about the 2023 BMW iX1 at this time: xDrive will be offered via two electric motors  and some version will have a single motor. The iX1 will be joined by a gasoline- and diesel-fueled X1 models as well as a plug-in hybrid variant. Charging the iX1 via an AC charger can be done at up to 22 kW - while DC fast charging won't go any higher than 127 kW. The new iX1 - as well as the X1 it’s based on - feature BMW’s very latest design language, with headlights that strongly swoop around the corners of the front fascia. There’s very bold blade-style rear light clusters that give the vehicle a wide stance and plenty of presence. All of the models will look similar and the crossover with conventional powertrains will share the same platform with the EV, allowing it to mirror the relationship between the new 7 Series and i7. The zero-emissions iX1 model won’t be the only addition to the range; there will also be an M Performance X1 M35i that comes with quad exhaust tips. It accelerates from standstill to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds and can reach a top speed of 112 mph. Check out our latest: BMW for sale

You can make your car even more secure by backing your car into a parking space or driveway to make it more visible to passersby and harder for the thief to work under the hood without being spotted by law-abiding citizens. Other anti-car theft quick tips: Remember to roll up your windows completely. Avoid leaving your car in parking lots for longer than necessary. Keep your valuable out of site. That means cell phones, purses and wallets. In certain cities, a steering wheel lock is a good idea and will indeed deter thieves. Last, and maybe most importantly, if you see a thief making his way into your car, dial 9-1-1 but don’t approach the criminal. Safety comes first. Always. Finally, you might also consider investing in an immobilizing devices. These devices act by shutting off your car’s electrical or fuel supply. If the criminal can’t actually drive a way with the car there’s going to be no car theft. You can also buy a tracking device for your vehicle that allows police to track down your car and recover it quickly. Don’t try to do this yourself. The 2023 McLaren Artura GT4

The 2023 McLaren Artura GT4 is Here and it's Definitely Not Street Legal!

Lightweight, ultra-efficient and, most importantly, fast. The 2023 McLaren Artura GT4 race car is currently making its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in Great Britain. And you can soon purchase this latest McLaren race car - but don’t think for a minute this machine is street legal. McLaren is well known for producing some of the fastest and most powerful cars in automotive history. Founded in the 1960s, McLaren has produced some of the most revered supercars, including the 720S and the 570S. And now there’s a new one about to make automotive history: the McLaren Artura GT4. 2023 McLaren Motorcars Artura GT4 The 2023 McLaren Artura GT4 race car employs the same brand new twin-turbo V6 engine as the McLaren Artura production model slated for release this summer. But it lacks the production model's plug-in-hybrid system, which isn't allowed in the GT4 class. To the untrained eye the race car looks pretty identical to the Artura production model - save for a few details, including its weight, which is 286 pounds lighter than the road model. It also has larger intakes on the front end, a unique wheel design, a new splitter, canards on the bumper and more vents in the hood. The GT4 is the second race car built from the ground up by the brand's motorsport division. It’s specifically designed for track use only – a celebration of McLaren’s rich racing heritage, which includes its presence in Formula 1 and Grand Touring motorsport. McLaren has already unveiled its production model Artura supercar that is also based on the same Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) platform, along with a 671hp hybrid powertrain. The McLaren Artura GT4 in Black Pricing has not been released but you can expect it to cost upwards of $245,000. The new GT4’s compact and powerful V6 engine is both lighter and more fuel efficient than the previous GT4 V8. Additionally, the transmission has shorter gear ratios than 570S GT4 and a mechanical limited slip differential for increased performance. But overall, the new Artura GT4 shares much of its technology with the McLaren Artura road car. McLaren Artura Panel The production model Artura was originally slated for release in the third quarter of 2021. However, due to the pandemic-related microchip shortage, the widely anticipated hypercar will be released in July 2022. The GT4’s stripped-out interior includes several iconic features, including racing bucket seats, adjustable pedals and a digital gauge cluster made by Bosche. McLaren Artura GT4 According to McLaren, the Artura is easier to get in and out of the Artura than the old 570S GT4, which is important for safety and driver changes. McLaren also notes that its motorsport-inspired chassis design and construction is the ideal platform for a race car, with the rigid structure enabling a wider setup envelope for the driver as well as a strong, safe driving environment. Here are some other McLaren Artura GT4 features worth noting: Light and powerful, the 2023 McLaren Artura GT4 race car is built using the brand-new McLaren Carbon Fiber Lightweight Architecture (MCLA). MCLA uses four new types of carbon fiber as well as an all-new resin system for perfected aerodynamics. The 2023 McLaren Artura GT4 boasts a dual-tone paint scheme with racing-inspired graphics as well as a sculpted hood with functional air scoops. At the rear, the GT4 includes a large spoiler and a diffuser. The McLaren Artura GT4 Racing It is powered by a 3.0-liter, V6 twin-turbo engine paired with a seven-speed gearbox with a reverse gear. The Artura GT4 is built with bespoke motorsport-specific components to enhance performance, durability and serviceability. The GT4 race car features LED headlights and lightweight alloy wheels. Ferrari's Tailor Made Program highlights: • Provides an array of standard (homologated) leathers and Alcantara for the interior, along with offering several out-of-range, semi-aniline leather options. • The Configurator program is available to facilitate the design; however, in New York, there is also a dedicated Atelier Photoshop expert to enhance the build beyond the Configurator e.g. design liveries • Atelier is ideal for clients who want a degree of personalization and the opportunity to infuse their personality into a design, without requiring highly-specialized interior materials. Custom Order Your Car with Ferrari Atelier • The essence of Tailor Made is the interior. A design is created around a concept, guided by the program’s three pillars: Classica, Scuderia & Inedita. • The program applies highly specialized, non-automotive materials. Some of the many examples include furniture leather, technical fabrics, luxury textiles, suiting, etc. These materials can be placed anywhere in the car, excluding homologated areas. Tailor Made also offers special seat patterns. • Photoshop is used entirely to design the car; there is no Configurator for Tailor Made. • Tailor Made clients typically have a great appreciation for all design, enjoy a very high level of unique, personalized products, and exhibit the willingness & patience to embark on a more involved design journey with Ferrari. The VW Golf is Iconic - And Now You Can Accessorize from Front to Back it to Add to the that Wow Factor.

The Volkswagen Golf has become a classic. As a compact car with a cool look and plenty of pep, the Golf became an instant automotive icon. In fact, it’s shape that was considered revolutionary for its time. Its creator, Giorgio Giugiaro, designed what VW calls "an incredibly angular car" that is popular to this day. Giugiaro named it “Golf”, a moniker derived from the German word for Gulf Stream. Not only is it affordable but it’s fast, responsive, and great looking. And, best of all, the VW Golf can be tricked out with special Golf accessories that allow you to improve your Golf over time. Volkswagen add-ons are specifically crafted for cool looks and easy installation. Best of all, we ship directly to you! more Here’s a list of some of our favorite accessories for your Golf. Seat covers Protect your Golf’s front seats with VW seat covers meant specifically for your special hatchback. Car mats, aka "automobile floor mats," are designed to protect a vehicle's floor from wear, dirt, and corrosion from salt and other chemicals you and your passengers might bring in. One major reason to use a mat is to keep your Golf looking clean and tidy. They work well because they can be removed for a good scrubbing and then put back in place. Seat covers are well-designed do more for your VW than you might think. Seat covers act as protectants that safeguard your seats from dirt and liquid - and they come in a variety of materials, from fabric to sheepskin. However, seat covers can also significantly improve your commuting comfort. Even better, they give your cabin that tailored custom look you love. Their materials can range from mesh to canvas to velour/jacquard – even leather and sheepskin. Our vote: Always choose genuine OEM VW seat covers for your Golf. They are designed just for your car so you get a great fit. Headrest Covers Headrest covers allow you to drive in style, enjoy the comfort and protect your headrest from dirt and grime, wear and tear. Trunk Organizer A trunk organizer for things like groceries can change your life for the better. Once you use one you might never want to be without a trunk organizer again. Not only does it make road trips and running errands easier but it will keep your groceries and other items well organized and protect them from tipping over, spilling, or rolling around. Spoilers They look cool and perform a function. Spoilers are intended to improve airflow above and below (and around) vehicles to reduce wind resistance, which is also called drag. They also take advantage of air to create more downforce and allow better grip at high speeds. In other words, they are designed to “spoil” airflow to reduce any negative effects. They started to be widely used in the 1960s as automakers sought to improve the aerodynamics of various racing and performance vehicles. Later on, federal fuel economy regulations pushed automakers to improve the aerodynamics of their cars in order to create higher mileage ratings. That’s because a car with less wind resistance uses less fuel at highway speeds. A well-designed and constructed rear wing will act like an upside-down aircraft wing to produce downforce instead of lift. But sticking anything poorly designed on the exterior of a vehicle is bound to disrupt the aerodynamics that were designed into it – so always choose an OEM VW spoiler for your Golf. VW Logo Key Fob Not up for spending a fortune on expensive parts and accessories for your Golf? How about this VW logo key fob – to remind you of your beloved Golf even when you are away from it? Roadside Assistance Kit You never know when you might need help on the highway and this roadside assistance kit from VW s just what you want when you’re road tripping in your Golf this summer. Whether your car battery dies and leaves you stranded in the desert or if you or someone needs some bandages quickly, the kit comes with assistance items for any number of dangers. It includes: A padded carrying bag Booster cables Warning triangle Multi-tool with pliers Blades and screwdriver LED flashlight Emergency blanket Emergency poncho Whistle Work gloves PVC tape Cable ties 15 adhesive bandages Extra-large bandages 2 knuckle bandages Chrome Trim Golf lovers love to upgrade. And chrome auto trim can give your car striking definition and emphasize its sleek lines—and, with chrome trim molding, it can protect ding-prone paint even as it adds style to your ride. We think they speak for themselves but chrome is a classic and will have you driving in style and turning heads wherever you go in your Golf. Rims A nice set of rims can add an extra bit of bling and beauty to your Golf. Adding just the right rims can make your Golf look like a million bucks, almost like upscale jewelry for your car. Gleaming and sparkling rims will garner you a lot of attention as you cruise down the street in your Golf. Rims also play a functional role on your vehicle, though, protecting your wheel from wear and tear while helping you move about in style. The outward face is what is seen on the outside of the vehicle. Other parts, including the spokes, plate, dish, and bolt circle all help to keep the wheel attached to the car and can even provide support. At $571 each these VW alloy wheels may be pricey but they are a sure-fire way to boost your Golf’s “it” factor. Wheel Caps Not ready to spring for blingy rims for your Golf? You can still boost your wheel look with these VW black center caps. At only $28.76 per wheel, they look great and give your golf a nice tailored look. View our VW Golf inventory.

The Volkswagen ID.Buzz Revealed: Everything you Need to Know about the Super Cool Electric Microbus on the Horizon

Are you considering pre-booking the new Volkswagen ID.Buzz, which is expected to hit showrooms in the coming year? Or, are you just chomping at the bit just to get a look at one in real life before you decide? The bad news: You will likely have to wait for the Volkswagen ID.Buzz to hit the market in early 2024. The good news: It’s filled with cool features, some of which you may not have heard about yet. more People are already talking about its updated “microbus” design, including sharp angles and two-toned color scheme, and its relatively affordable price compared to other EVs. And of course, there's the powerful and fully electric powertrain. In fact, we think it might just blow your mind. You may have heard it’s an update of the classic Volkswagen microbus and that it contains everything you love about the original. Check Out: From People’s “Wagon” to Hippie Bus and Now Fully Electric, the VW Microbus ID.Buzz is Poised to Change the Automotive World Yet Again But here are some of the updates that make the Volkswagen ID.Buzz one for the EV history books: Layout and design It’s got a simple V-shaped interior and plenty of tech. In fact, the dashboard encompasses most of the tech features via a highly intuitive infotainment screen that will respond to your every need. The sunroof and spacious interior make it great for the whole family to enjoy a summer road trip or weekend getaway to the beach. The front area of the bonnet contains the air conditioning vent and luggage compartment while the back area has space for three air vents. The three- and four-door microbus can hold as many as seven passengers. Upfront, the driver has easy access to all the tech via the dash, which contains the signature ID light tech that will illuminate with various navigation guides, an automated voice assistant, and GPS. The second-row seats can be folded to form cool tables, turning your bus' interior into a mini living room. Among other things, this makes it perfect for overnighters, beach trips, and tailgaters. That weird steering wheel First, let's talk about the steering wheel's weird shape. Its oblong and curvy rectangular shape is like nothing we've seen before but it contains many needed controls. This makes it a great space-saving piece of technology because it reserves room on the dash so the driver feels comfortable and focused with all tasks. The spoke-free wheel, trimmed with upscale leather, is like an interactive touchpad, a touch-sensitive steering wheel that allows the driver to operate the drive-in various modes. Among other things, you can operate on-and-off signals and interact with various menu functions. The outer edge of the touchpad on the steering wheel contains a cool-looking honeycomb-like light signature. That battery with rapid charging The 48kWh – 111kWh battery pack sits in the middle of the chassis platform and combines with two motors at both axles. The folks at VW say it can fully charge in just a half-hour. The microbus is said to have an impressive range of about 342 miles. And the total system has an output of 275kW. There are even 230 volts available for using power tools. The ID Buzz is also equipped with solar panels on the roof for an extra charge. This guarantees that the Microbus can still run for about 10 miles if the owner has neglected to charge it. And we are told it can get from zero to 60 in a not-too-shabby 5.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 100 mph. Clearly, not your grandpa’s microbus. Eventually it will be self-driving The ID.Buzz will eventually come with an automated drivetrain that pulls the steering wheel into the dashboard James Bond-like after being enabled. This is all enabled by on-board sensors and cameras to ensure a safe and comfortable driving experience for you and your passengers. The coming ID BUZZ is said to be the first fully autonomous multi-purpose vehicle. A slight push on the steering wheel makes it retract and merge into the instrument panel, switching the I.D. BUZZ from manual control to the fully autonomous “I.D. Pilot” mode that could make it into production by 2025. Jan 9, 2017, according to Volkswagen. According to Motor1.com website: “In this mode, the wheel is decoupled from the steering gear via a newly developed steering column system. The ambient lighting then switches from white light (“Drive”) to mood lighting that is warm and relaxed. At the same time, the distribution of ambient lighting is extended to the rear seating area. Simultaneously, the status of the I.D. BUZZ can be seen at all times on the tablet and the augmented reality head-up display." Volkswagen User-ID The ID.Buzz even knows who will be at the wheel, thanks to the “Volkswagen User-ID." This means you have an individual profile that stores the personal seat and air conditioning settings, your favorite music, the settings of the sound system as well as exterior sound and the navigation system configuration. Lighting is also recorded as are contacts. And best of all this exact profile can be retrieved securely via the cloud. The high-tech microbus also recognizes which person is getting into the car or wants to take the steering wheel at any given time via the authorized user’s smartphone—the Digital Key. As soon as you or that other person approach the bus, the sensor surfaces for opening the door light up. If the person’s hand is close to the surface, that individual door will be opened. According to VW: By using the Volkswagen User-ID and a relevant smartphone app, passengers can also control infotainment functions and input destinations into the navigation system as needed. The route will then be shown on a tablet. Affordable EVs are quite expensive and huge numbers of American consumers are yet to embrace them. But VW is trying to overcome this issue by offering a competitive pricing range for their ID range: Possibly as low as $35,000 to $45,000. And you get a lot for your money. Along with everything else we've already mentioned you can expect the Microbus to have primary navigation and connectivity options as well as VW's progressive car tech. Taken together with the roomy interior, the configurable cabin, and plenty of savings on maintenance and fuel thanks to it being an EV - not to mention its beneficial impact on global warming - the new ID Buzz adds up to long-term fun and savings for you and your family.
