The event took place on Thursday, April 14 at the Four Seasons Hotel to celebrate Houston’s most stylish men that are featured in the April issue of Modern Luxury. Spectators gazed at vehicles from Porsche of North Houston and Lamborghini Houston that greeted guests at the entrance of the Four Seasons. It was a great evening with curated cocktails by two-time James Beard Award-winning mixologist Dale DeGroff and music from The Carlyle Hotel pianist, Chris Gillespie. All proceeds from the event benefitted Dwight Howard’s D12 Foundation. It was an honor to be a part of such a wonderful event!

On April 14, 2016, indiGO Auto Group's Porsche St. Louis ushered in the new 2017 Porsche 911. Porsche customers and enthusiasts joined us at our dealership to get a first look at the all-new 2017 911. Throughout the evening guests enjoyed tasty hors d'oeuvres and cocktails served from a 911 Ice Sculpture Bar. Each guest was sent home with a Porsche 911 car collector’s item as a token of appreciation for joining us for the festive night. Of course the star of the show was the new 911! This updated version of the 911 continues the legacy of being an authentic Porsche sports car while providing compelling comfort for any drive. The enhanced front and rear design enhances the 911’s sharp lines. New twin-turbo engines provide the driver with increased power (414 horsepower to be precise), considerably more torque, high rpm limits and lower consumption. Guests couldn’t get enough of it! Popular Houston restaurant Bistro Menil served up an ideal setting for our Porsche fete. A little rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the Porsche enthusiasts in attendance who gathered to get a first glimpse of Porsche’s newest masterpiece, the new 911. Automotive News released an article today forecasting that the Macan will be Porsche’s new top-seller. A leader from Porsche’s dealer advisory board said targeted sales of around 17,000 vehicles in 2016 is that will make this crossover become the top-selling nameplate this year. “Two new models on sale this year will help the Macan overtake its big brother crossover, the Porsche Cayenne, said Todd Blue, CEO of indiGO Auto Group, which has three Porsche stores, in St. Louis, Houston and Rancho Mirage, California. Customer enthusiasm for the compact-cross-over segment is another factor.” Mr. Blue added, “Porsche executives have long expected the Macan to become the brand's top-seller, and, with supplies freeing up, it looks like 2016 will be the year the Macan passes the Cayenne. But Cayenne sales are likely to increase this year, too.” Automotive News reported the Macan was the brand’s second largest seller in 2015 behind on the Cayenne. Porsche sold 3,533 Macans in 2015. Mr. Blue predicts, "The growth is going to come in 2016 from crossover SUVs." Once production of the new Macan variants has normalized, Mr. Blue expects 20 percent of the nameplate's sales to come from the four-cylinder model and another 15 to 20 percent from the new GTS.

A supercar is coming to Jaguar's line-up. The automaker will build the stunning XKSS as an ultra-exclusive continuation model. Only nine new XKSS's - often referred to by experts as the world's first supercar - will be hand-built by Jaguar Classic to the exact specification as they appeared in 1957, replacing the cars lost due to the famous Browns Lane factory fire. Tim Hannig, Director, Jaguar Land Rover Classic, said, "The XKSS occupies a unique place in Jaguar's history and is a car coveted by collectors the world over for its exclusivity and unmistakable design. The original cars were earmarked for export to the USA, however, just 16 were completed before disaster struck. Now 59 years later, Jaguar is going to build the nine 'lost' XKSS sports cars for a select group of established collectors and customers. The expertise gained during the construction of the Lightweight E-type project will be transferred to the construction of the nine ultra-exclusive continuations. Each one will be hand-built at Jaguar's new 'Experimental Shop' in Warwick. Every car will be constructed to the same specifications as those first 16 made in 1957 - every aspect fully certified by Jaguar. The price will be in excess of £1 million. The story of the XKSS began following Jaguar's three successive Le Mans victories in 1955, 1956 and 1957 with the all-conquering D-type. After the hat-trick of wins, Sir Williams Lyons took the decision on 14 January 1957 to convert the remaining 25 D-types into road-going versions with several external modifications - creating the world's first super car. These modifications included the addition of a new higher windscreen, an extra door on the passenger side, taking away the divider between driver and passenger and the removal of the famous fin behind the driver's seat. Automotive News reported that Porsche has announced it is unveiling a four-cylinder Macan later this month at the New York Auto Show. This model will be the brand’s new entry-level crossover and the price will begin at just $48,550.Here in the United States this is the fourth model in the Here in the United States this is the fourth model in the Macan line-up. In addition, Porsche offers the Macan S, Turbo and the GTS. The new Macan will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine that Porsche describes as “sporty and highly efficient.” The vehicle produces 252 hp and 273 pounds-feet of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph takes 6.1 seconds, and top track speed is an impressive 142 mph.
