A Safe Bet: VW Golf Earns Highest Safety Car Awards from Insurance Industry

The 2022 Volkswagen Golf is celebrated for impressive styling and even more impressive performance and handling. And now, the Golf has earned one of the highest safety car awards in the U.S. insurance industry. The VW Golf Has Earned One of The Highest Safety Car Awards. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety ( IIHS) is an independent, nonprofit scientific and educational group that is dedicated to reducing deaths, injuries, and property damage from motor vehicle crashes using research and evaluation. The organization also aims to educate consumers, policymakers, and safety professionals through its work. The Volkswagen Golf GTI and Volkswagen Golf R recently soared through all of the six crash tests conducted by the IIHS, making it earn the highest safety car awards. Both hatchbacks come solidly equipped with standard driver-assist features that minimize the likelihood and impact of a crash. And the new insurance industry crash test demonstrated how well those safety features work. Among other things, VW notes that the Golf has safety features such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, active lane control, blind-spot monitors, and parking sensors in the front and rear of the car that helped it earn the highest safety car awards from the insurance industry. The Golf Was Engineered With an Impressive Braking System To Prevent Crashes. The emergency braking system earned a ranking of "Superior" in terms of avoiding crashes in 12 and 25-mph tests, according to the IIHS findings. The IIHS gave the 2022 Golf R a “Top Safety Pick+” designation for its LED projector headlights with automatic high beams. Check out: Power, Performance and Plenty of Sporty Charm: Five Reasons the 2022 VW Golf R is an Instant Classic. The 2022 Golf GTI, meanwhile, earned a “Top Safety Pick” designation when outfitted with those same headlights on the model-topping Autobahn trim. The Golf GTI: Considered A "Top Safety Pick" Vehicle. This is important because the majority of fatal crashes happen at night. So the insurance industry-backed IIHS keyed in on headlight efficacy in their testing. The IIHS testing is widely considered to be more stringent than that of the U.S. government’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ( NHTSA). Volkswagen has cut down the Golf lineup in the United States but the high-performance GTI and Golf R remain available to American buyers. Providing them with redefined safety features. The New Golf Comes Equipped with Redefined Safety Features. VW outfitted them with a long list of safety features that made it possible to obtain the highest safety car awards. For crash safety, both cars earned “Good” scores in all categories. The IIHS is an insurance industry-backed organization that conducts safety testing on most new makes and models. Distracted Driving

Just Say No: Distracted Driving is a Leading - and Growing - Cause of Fatalities on U.S. Roads

When it comes to driving, distracted driving is a deadly game. In fact, it takes less than a second of distracted driving to cause a wreck. It can include looking down, glancing at a text on your phone, or even checking the rearview mirror to see what the kids are up to. Discover Some Tips to Stay Safe on The Road. In fact, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) found that sending or reading a text at 55 mph is tantamount to driving the length of a standard football field with your eyes shut. Of course, most of us believe we are safe drivers who never get distracted while driving. But a recent article in the Los Angeles Times found that digital distraction is actually driving a big increase in highway deaths. It comes after decades of decreasing fatality rates. In recent years, American roads have become markedly more hazardous. Distracted Driving is a Leading Cause of Fatalities on the Road. In 2021, for instance, crashes killed nearly 43,000 people – a figure that’s up from 33,000 in 2012. In fact, the 2021 figure was a 16-year high. At the same time, the U.S. market is being flooded with new interactive technology that is joining the cell phone in tempting drivers to glance away from the road and enhancing distracted drivers. In other words, as the Times put it, we’re collectively in a state of cognitive overload off – and on – the road. Modern cars are filled with technology. It's on the driver's and passengers' phones and also within other digital interfaces. Technology Might Just be the Answer to Diminish Accidents Caused by Distracted Driving. These include touch screens, interactive maps, and nested menus that can demand a driver’s attention. So how do we maintain focus behind the wheel in an age of interactive technology inside and outside the car? As stated by the National Safety County ( NSC), other technology is part of the solution, it turns out. New technology found in most new luxury cars includes innovative safety features such as lane-departure warning and blind spot detection, among other features to minimize inattentive driving. Many New Luxury Vehicles Have Technology to Keep You Safe on the Road. Check out: The Jaguar E-Pace Receives A Five-Star Safety Rating But good old fashioned common sense is probably our best tool. In other words "just say no" to behaviors that cause inattentive driving. Turning off the phone may be your best line of defense. The National Safety Council reported in 2020 that cell phones were involved in more than a quarter of all crashes. And a poll by Nationwide Insurance showed that agents reported that they believed half of all crashes they dealt with involved some sort of distracted driving. Inattentive Driving Leads to Unwanted Stress. And it’s just getting worse. Distracted driving involves multiple types of distraction, according to the Money Geek website: • Visual: This happens when you, the driver, take your eyes off the road to look at something inside or outside the car. For instance: looking at your GPS or staring at an accident on the road. • Manual: This is anytime the driver takes one or both hands off the wheel to do a task unrelated to driving such as grabbing a cell phone, taking a sip of water, or a bite of a burger. Or brushing your hair. Distracted Driving Includes Many Types of Distraction. • Auditory: Auditory distractions are equally important and include using air buds while driving. They can cause us to miss sirens, honks from other vehicles, or rumble strips on the highway warning us that we are getting too close to the edge. They can also include a child crying in the back seat. • Cognitive: This is simply when the driver is not focused, something that is essential when operating a two ton vehicle. Cognitive distractions include spacing out, daydreaming, talking to passengers, or chatting on the phone. Texting, of course, is a main culprit because it involves visual, manual, and cognitive distractions all at the same time, according to the website. Texting is a Major Reason Behind Distracted Drivers. So what’s the answer? Simply stop these behaviors. Turn the phone off, don't eat in the car while driving, don’t use air buds when you are, tell people you can’t get caught up in conversations and also take time to breathe and focus. Remember you are operating heavy machinery and lives are at stake. For more information from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) on how to stop distracted driving, click here. Is the New Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II the Ultimate Luxury Car?

It may be the Rolls-Royce of Rolls-Royces. The venerable British automaker has been known for representing the pinnacle of luxury since as early 1907 when the British magazine Autocar dubbed Rolls-Royce the "best car in the world." And the media and luxury car collectors just keep enforcing that belief. The 2023 Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II. Take, for instance, the 2023 Phantom Series II, which Car & Driver dubbed “the pinnacle of luxury.” Or as Rolls-Royce describes the aura around this car: “Self-evidently, there is no such thing as a ‘typical’ Phantom client. Spanning the ‘poles of luxury’, they may be ever-younger or older, modern or traditional, self-made or from long-established wealth. Their commissions reflect a full spectrum of interests and influences. At one extreme, Phantom takes on a subversive, almost rebellious character–youthful, dynamic and daring. On the other, Phantom transforms into an ode to luxury grandeur and timelessness.” The Phantom Series II: Perfection in All Areas. The Phantom is in fact the flagship Rolls-Royce and has been since 1925. Now in its eighth generation, it’s the longest continuously running nameplate in the automotive industry. Rolls-Royce chose to unveil the new series II recently on the winding roads of France’s Côte d’Azur, deputing 10 individual cars. It may be the perfect backdrop for the Phantom Series II, in all its singular expressions and possessing its own flowing, streamlined beauty. The 2023 Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II: Perfection in All Areas. Many have called the Rolls-Royce automobiles rolling works of art and it is the Cote d’Azur where Picasso, Matisse, Chagall, and many other artists drew inspiration from the incredible natural landscape. Sophie Weekes, the Bespoke Lead on Series II, explains it this way: “Each of these ‘10 Exemplars’ (of the Phantom Series II) exudes its own distinctive character. Our designers work with clients to develop a deep knowledge and understanding of our customers' personality and then express that through their commission.” The Rolls-Royce is therefore the perfect automotive canvas on which an owner can create a masterpiece that reflects the owner’s personality and preferences. The Phantom Series II Brings a New Form of Technology to The Automotive World. Take, for instance, the “Iconoclast,” one of the 10 debut examples of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II unveiled at the French Riviera recently. The radiant interior was actually designed to play off of the lights of nearby Monte Carlo. Check out: Custom Rolls-Royce: You Don’t Just Purchase a Rolls-Royce, You Commission It – Like the Work of Art that it is. Customization is just part of what is special about the Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II, which incorporates “the most subtle aesthetic and technological enhancements that reflect the input of clients.” The Phantom Series II: The Ultimate Rolls-Royce. There have been subtle overall changes. For instance, for 2023 a polished horizontal line connects the daytime running lights above the iconic Pantheon Grille. And the “RR” badge and Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament are now more prominent. Polished exterior brightwork is a sought-after feature of the Phantom design, but now the grille and exterior trim are also available in darkened chrome. Felix Kibertus, Rolls-Royce’s head of exterior design, says he took a “holistic approach to the lighting.” “The grille itself is now illuminated, while the headlights are graced with intricate laser-cut bezel starlights, creating a visual connection with the Starlight Headliner inside. This concept which we call ‘light touch’ adds further surprise and delight to Phantom’s nighttime presence, and we see tremendous opportunities to continue to push our creative ideas.” Experience Luxury in Every Way Possible. The new Phantom's profile picks up on the formal proportions of every Phantom throughout the ages. There’s short front and long rear overhangs - and a long wheelbase in between those two features. And that wheelbase can become even longer with the Phantom Extended, the logical choice for owners who want to be driven by a chauffeur. With the Phantom Extended, a high shoulder and wide C-pillars provide privacy for rear-seat occupants. It's rare to find a place where you can really let go - an inner-scape of calm where you can enter into a tranquil realm. And the 2023 Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II Extended offers you just that. It’s not only considered by Rolls-Royce to be the greatest automobile in the world, but it's also effortlessly poised and immaculately composed to give you the extra space within which to experience that greatness and ultimate luxury. Encounter A New, Innovative Car Experience. Inside its spacious rear cabin, you can melt into a tranquil haven that is yours — and yours alone. It’s one where you can experience the luxury of absolute privacy thanks to the Rolls-Royce Privacy Suite that transforms the rear cabin into a secluded sanctuary for undisturbed enjoyment. The greatness is in the details - inside and out. Take, for instance, the newly available 22-inch disc-style wheels inspired by iconic 1920s Rolls-Royce models. Available in polished stainless steel or gloss black they are sure to be one of the many features that turn heads everywhere you travel in this great car. Also available: a geometric seven-spoke wheel design that is milled via 3D technology from stainless steel. Additionally, the 2023 Phantom Series II's grille is illuminated and reworked with a new horizontal chrome top. The grille surround, hood trim, and windshield surround – as well as the side window trim – are all available in a newly optional darkened chrome. Also new: the famed Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament is now more prominent on the front. Inside, it’s a world of luxury of only the finest leathers, veneers, and finishes. The Phantom Series II: The Ultimate Rolls-Royce. A single panel of glass spans the entire fascia to house a unique Gallery displaying bespoke artwork of your choice. And it’s the quietest Rolls-Royce ever made – a sanctuary of peace and tranquility where you can let your mind drift or enjoy a quiet conversation. And there’s plenty of room to stretch out and unwind. Because the Phantom Extended sets the standard for roominess, giving you an extra 8.6 inches of Phantom and plenty of legroom. Powered by a 563-hp twin-turbo V-12 paired with an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, you can accelerate from zero to 60 in 5.15 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph. The world needs icons. It needs people like you who stand clear of the rest and rewrite the rules. For these individuals who inspire greatness, only an automotive icon will suffice. Distracted Driving is Beyond Dangerous - Here are the Top Apps that Minimize it.

Distracted driving is deadly – but there’s more and more technology that can help minimize it. But it's technology itself – especially cell phones and texting – that's the major cause of distracted driving which causes thousands of fatalities each year in America. In 2021, for instance, crashes killed nearly 43,000 people – a figure that’s up from 33,000 in 2012. In fact, the 2021 figure was a 16-year high, according to recent media reports. The reason? Technology-drive distracted driving. In fact, sending or reading texts at 55 mph is just about the same as driving the length of a football field with your eyes closed, experts say. And it’s illegal. But people still do it. Today, thankfully, there is technology – mainly safety features - built into luxury cars that help keep drivers safe and far from distracted driving. Technology Has Advanced in Ways To Help Minimize Distracted Driving. And there’s an entire category of safe driving apps that were created to prevent absent-minded driving. They all share a central premise: Make your phone inaccessible to you while you are driving. It’s just that simple - and it can save your life. Here’s a look at various safe driving apps from a list compiled by Farm Bureau Financial Services to help minimize distracted driving. DriveMode The Future is Technology. DriveMode Will Keep You Far From Absent-Minded Driving. Once your automobile reaches 15 mph, this app silences alerts as well as phone calls and texts. It can also send out auto replies to people texting you that you are driving. Moreover, parents can sign up to receive alerts when this safe driving app is turned off or disabled by their teenage children. Best of all it’s free and available on Androids and iPhones. EverDrive EverDrive is a Leading App in Minimizing Distracted Driving. This app actually turns safe driving into a game. You can use it to compete with your friends, family, and even drivers in your neighborhood to see who can drive the safest using this app. It rates you on everything from acceleration and braking to cornering, speed, and phone use. It then gives you a trip grade to compare with other drivers’ scores. And it’s free! LifeSaver LifeSaver Can Quite Literally Save Your Life by Minimizing Distracted Driving. LifeSaver operates silently in the background most of the time but activates when you start driving. Among other things, it allows employers to see its fleets’ driver performance and then sends daily or weekly email reports that detail inattentive driving violations by employers. It also has a special portal for parents, which includes a rewards system for young drivers. Cost: Free. TrueMotion Family TrueMotion Will Keep You Far From Distracted Driving. The TrueMotion app provides an overall snapshot of your family members’ driving habits. Each family member's car trip gets graded on a 100-point scale, allowing you to measure improvement over time and see how your relatives compare in terms of safe driving practices. Inattentive driving is just one of the factors this app examines. You’ll also be able to see if your teen engaged in behavior like text messaging while driving. It’s free. TextDrive Use TextDrive To Your Advantage and Stay Safe on The Road. This one goes right to the heart of the matter and is highly rated for a reason. It sends messages to those who try to call or text you while you’re driving your car. And you can set up an auto-text and phone call reply that goes out automatically when people try to reach you while you are driving as well as a number of other features. It’s also free. Learn more safety tips for driving: Safety Tips for Driving Your Audi A4 at Night Another insurance company just released a very disturbing survey. According to State Farm, more than half of all respondents said they "always" or "often" read or send text messages while driving. And 43 percent of respondents said they watched cellphone videos always or often while driving. More than a third said they always or often drove while engaged in a video chat. That's more than enough reason to make sure you and your family are using safe driving apps when you are behind the wheel. A Los Angeles Times article said that state laws that ban holding a cell phone or texting while driving give the impression that the danger stops there. But that is not true. Many Modern Vehicles Have Features To Diminish Absent-Minded Driving. “The problem is asking the brain to do too many things at once. The technical term is cognitive overload, which includes distraction and multitasking and sensory input from a variety of sources.” The National Transportation Safety Board has gone even further and called for a total ban on in-car device use — excluding built-in infotainment systems — while driving, except in emergencies. Use Your Phone in Ways That Can Save Your Life by Minimizing Distracted Driving. And companies should restrict device use by employees, the NTSB said. Keeping your mind off all phone technology while driving may be your best bet. But if you can’t resist, be sure to “invest” in one of these free apps! Aston Martin is Getting a New Set of Wings: How a British Designer Breathed New Life into the Famous Winged Logo.

Aston Martin is known for luxurious, sporty design and powerful engines. So much so that the Aston Martin DB5 is literally considered the James Bond car by lovers of all things automotive and 007. Aston Martin's Seat Logo. And now, it seems, Aston Martin is getting a new set of wings on its logo rebrand. The British automaker recently hired famed graphic designer Peter Saville CBE to update its famous winged logo. Aston Martin's New Logo. His design changes are subtle and probably won’t overly upset those who loved the old logo. That's because the new logo respects the company’s heritage while at the same time bringing a fresh, modern look to it. The old Aston Martin logo featured a green gradient background and a semi-circular line. The old logos lines reflected the original Egyptian inspiration for the design but didn’t quite capture Aston Martin of today. Aston Martin 's Past Logo. Saville replaced those elements with a solid British racing green while thickening the lines of the new logo. It now appears bolder but also more streamlined and contemporary. The hope is that Aston Martin’s appeal will spread to younger and more international audience – while at the same time respecting the brand's heritage. “Every millimeter of each line – of each shape within the new wings, are drawn forward from the depths of our 109-year Aston Martin creative wellspring,” Aston Martin's executive vice president, Marek Reichman, told the media recently. The new Aston Martin logo will also be used in physical badges that will be made by well-known Birmingham silversmiths Vaughtons. Saville said his tweaks were "subtle but necessary” enhancements to the design that not only to keep the logo fresh but also to allow it to be applied to various formats and technologies in the future. So how did Aston Martin get those wings on its logo in the first place? Aston Martin's Back Logo. The new set of wings for the new logo, it turns out, has incorporated contemporary cues from each era of Aston Martin and has now evolved into an instantly recognizable icon worldwide. As Aston Martin launches its bold new brand identity, and updated iconic wings, the British automaker is taking a look at the early history of this iconic marque. 1920 Aston Martin's Interior Panel. Eager to build the fledgling Aston Martin brand, co-founder Lionel Martin didn't just aspire to compete with his rivals, he sought to make a different kind of car: a luxury sports car. With an interlocking 'A' and 'M' in dark green – a nod to British racing green – and its circular, button shape, the original logo was inspired by those of preeminent luxury car brands of the early 1920s. Simple yet sophisticated, the design was led by Lionel's wife, Kate Martin, and exuded elegance and style. 1921-1927 Aston Martin's Logo from 1921-1927. Except for the Coal Scuttle, the very first Aston Martin and a car raced by Kate herself, the logo was applied to every Aston Martin from 1920 to early 1927, including our first Grand Prix car, TT1, which after being sold by the team became affectionately known as 'Green Pea' owing to its color and Grand Prix – or 'GP' – racing heritage. The Roaring Twenties brought more than flapper dresses, frivolity and a cartoon mouse by the name of Mickey – the Aston Martin brand got its wings for the first time.Technological advances led to milestones in aviation that captured public imagination, such as the first non-stop transatlantic flight, and brands sought to capitalize on people's fascination with flying. Any car company with a link to aviation made it known and even those that didn't alluded to possible connections with the industry. 1927 Aston Martin's Logo in 1927. Motivated by this popular aviation trend, this year saw the introduction of the first iteration of the wings that would become synonymous with Aston Martin. The wings symbolized speed, and the 'A' and 'M' of the original logo were replaced with the company name – stylized so that the centrally positioned 'M' connected with the horizontal elements of 'T'. The designer remains a mystery to this day. Check our our latest! ASton martin inventory

The Ferrari Monza SP1 is one of the Most Incredible Supercars Money Can Buy – Nearly Two Million to Be Exact

The Ferrari Monza SP1 is already an icon in more ways than one. In fact, it's a showcase of the Italian automaker’s ‘Icona’ (Icon) concept Icona is where modern aesthetic is used to reinterpret a timeless style. The SP1 is a single-seater (while the nearly identical SP2 has two seats), with the driver's position situated to one side of the car. With an eye to the future, the SP1's technologically advanced components bring the highest performance possible thanks to continuous innovation. Only 499 will be built for some very special collectors - and they are already sold out. You May Also Like: They Said it Would Never Happen – but the Ferrari SUV is a Real Thing So let’s take a look at some of the incredible features that make the Ferrari Monza SP1 one of the greatest supercars of the past decades and why it sold out so quickly. The Engine The SP1's stunning bodywork is inspired by the 750 Monza and 860 Monza racing cars of the mid-1950s, referenced in the voluptuous front wing curves, those abrupt rear buttresses, and unusual seating. The 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine is front-mid-mounted and similar to that found in the Ferrari 812 Superfast but with 10 additional horsepower bringing the total to 801 horsepower and 530lb-ft of torque. It's a historical car – with a historical engine - that exists solely for you, the driver.  The SP1 comes with only one type of transmission, an F1 seven-speed dual-clutch system. With a curb weight of just under 3,310 lbs, you can get from zero to 60 in just 2.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 186 mph. It's a Work of Art It’s been called a car whose pure beauty looks “sculpted by the wind” and its styling elements are truly impressive. The aesthetic is futuristic but at the same time a respectful yet un-nostalgic homage to the past. Even the Monza SP1’s LED light units are a work of art – expressed as a slender light bar instead of quad round lenses at the rear. The turbine-spoke wheels are a fresh take that is not found on any other Ferrari model. Inside and out, Ferrari engineers succeeded beautifully in using a modern aesthetic to reinterpret a timeless style, all while including high-tech components and the highest performance possible The Virtual Windshield The Ferrari Monza SP1 has no windows or roof – and it also has no windshield. Instead, it has what the Italian automaker calls a "virtual windshield." Instead of a glass windshield or screen, Ferrari has developed an airflow system designed to carry out the same function of a windshield. As the car moves, air is sucked in through the intake at the front of the car, then channeled to an upwards-facing vent that's located in front of the driver's seat, creating the windshield-like barrier. It Only Has One Seat This is one of the most unique features on the SP1. Ferrari gave the car a single seat made of carbon fiber to keep weight at a minimum. To get into the car the driver lifts up a small door and hops over a sill before lowering himself/herself into the driver’s seat. Once inside you are ready for incredible driving thrills as you bask in the gorgeous leather upholstery. But don’t plan on bringing a friend! For that, you will need to invest in the two-seater SP2, which is almost identical. The idea to make an extreme car with a single seat is rooted deeply in Ferrari’s history. The Barchetta design is the basis for many of the automaker’s racing cars from the '50s, which look similar to the design of the Monza SP1. And that is exactly what the Ferrari designers had in mind. The Interior is a Classic The interior of the SP1 is based Upon the 812. Lovers of all things Ferrari will recognize it as being similar to the classic 812. In fact, it employs the same chassis as the stock 812 as well as an identical engine. You may also spot many similar mechanical components and the overall interior look is similar. Starting price: of $1.8 million. Discover our inventory: ferrari for sale

The Lamborghini Urus is Making Headlines - Why do Celebrities Love this SUV Hypercar So Much?

The Lamborghini Urus seems to be popping up in celebrity news quite a bit these days. With headlines like: Kim Kardashian rocks a casual look with a black halter top and ripped jeans as she fills up her Lamborghini Urus at the pump And: Ben Affleck’s 10-Year-Old Son Accidentally Backed a $225,000 Lamborghini URUS Into a BMW. Ouch. That’s right. The big names are driving the Urus. And getting attention. And America, it seems, is riveted. For instance, Kim Kardashian looking cool and casual recently as she pumped some gas into her famously gray Lamborghini Urus grabbed gazillions of clicks all over the media. You may even recall that she then stopped at a nearby McDonald's for a quick meal before heading on her way in her Urus. Of course the tabloids were more focused on what she was wearing (a halter top) and who she was with (nobody) than the car. But there’s a reason Kim, who could buy any car in the world, chose a Lamborghini Urus. The 2022 Lamborghini Urus is an exotic high-performance SUV worthy of A-listers and VIPs. It’s got everything you’d expect of a Lamborghini, including a powerful V8, a sport-tuned suspension and a sophisticated all-wheel-drive system. In fact this SUV hyper car helps you attain perfect traction in any weather – in comfort and style. It’s a true Lamborghini but it can carrying people and cargo with all the utility you’d expect of a family SUV. That 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine churns out 640 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the most powerful SUVs on the market today. But if you had mentioned the words “Lamborghini” and “SUV” in the same sentence 20 years ago many luxury car enthusiasts might have laughed. Today, not only does Lamborghini offer an SUV, the Urus, but it’s their top-selling vehicle! So what makes the Lamborghini Urus great? Solid performance A spacious and comfy interior Luxury appointments and finishes Incredible power and performance In other words, even though it’s an SUV it boasts distinct Lamborghini design that turns heads and sets it apart from other luxury SUVs. You’ll roar from zero to 60 in a mere 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 121 mph. It contains seating for up to five people and plenty of cargo room. So you get the utility of a sports car and the power and performance of a Lamborghini. The seats are just as comfortable as you’d expect as part of an interior that is filled with sporty carbon fiber and luxurious materials. Instead of a single large infotainment display, there’s a pair of screens that each provide you with information, along with the digital gauge cluster. Starting at $222,000, it’s got the soul of a super sports car but it works perfectly for your everyday life. In fact, the Lamborghini Urus is the world’s first Super Sport Utility Vehicle - where luxury, sportiness and performance meet comfort and versatility. Other features of the Urus: The luxury of Italian craftsmanship meets state-of-the-art technology in this Lamborghini SUV. Aerospace-inspired design and driver-oriented instrumentation make the driving experience more comfortable and engaging. The interior can be customized and made even more sporty or elegant, thanks to the wide range of colors and materials: leather, Alcantara, wood, aluminum or carbon-fiber finishes. A new realm of customization showcases the inimitable style and exhilarating performance of the world’s first Super Sport Utility Vehicle. The Urus Pearl Capsule offers a selection of exclusive pearl paints and style elements that embrace the bright colors of Lamborghini tradition. Sporting a powerful look and a dynamic stance, the Urus Graphite Capsule combines sophisticated satin-effect matte colors with contrasting bright-colored details that express new and alluring interpretations of your personality. So what actually happened with Ben Affleck? It turns out his 10-year-old Samuel Garner Affleck—Ben and ex-wife Jennifer Garner's son—somehow ended up in the driver's seat of a yellow Lamborghini Urus. While visiting a dealership in Los Angeles with Ben and mom, Sam got in the driver's seat and put the car in reverse, hitting the BMW parked behind him. Super ouch. Luckily, no one was hurt. Even the Urus. Check out our latest: Lamborghini for sale

Now You Can Have Your Own Fantasy Bond Car with Electric Shock Door Handles

Electric Shock Door Handles on an Aston Martin? Really? It may be the ultimate real-life Bond Car. A US company has unveiled a new fully armored version of the Aston Martin Vantage that may be just as tough as the DB5 driven by 007. AddArmor by Quality Coachworks is bringing a Bond-esque Vantage within reach of your average multi-millionaire by introducing a fully armored version of the high-performance grand tourer designed to appeal to your inner spy. AddArmor, a company founded by a team of former law enforcement and special operations personnel, has in the past created fortified Cadillacs and Mercedes-Benz vans. Now it’s offering an ultra-fortified Aston Martin Vantage, complete with bulletproof glass windshield and windows that can stop rounds as strong as a .44 magnum and .357 magnum. Not bad! Check Out: No Argument: Aston Martin is THE ultimate Bond Car. It also has an armored firewall fashioned from the company’s special blend of composite materials and super-thick reinforced doors. And the cappers: A blast-resistant hardened steel on the roof and a fuel tank that can protect its contents. The beefy Aston also includes other high-tech gadgetry worthy of Bond himself. The armored Aston Martin Vantage actually comes with electric-shocking door handles that can zap a bad guy trying to get into your car. The package also includes tamper-proof exhaust and run-flat tires. This is one serious spy mobile. Despite all the added fortifications, the Vantage coupe is still relatively light in weight. In fact, the protective gear only adds about 450 pounds to its body. The suspension was adjusted to make up for the increased load. The standard version of the latest Vantage sports a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. There’s also a V-12 variant if you need even more power. Pricing for the fortified package starts at $32,500, according to AddArmor. Maybe just a “regular” 2022 Aston Martin Vantage is more your speed? Well, it’s incredibly quick with plenty of handling and enjoyment for you, the driver. It is, after all, the epitome of a driver’s car - even with electric-shock doors. Engineers at Aston Martin sought out the ideal foundation for the new Vantage, crafting its frame from lightweight, bonded aluminum. The inherent sports agility comes from its compact dimension and lightweight with near-perfect 50:50 weight distribution. A rigid subframe within this backbone delivers enhanced stability for the suspension you expect in a great car. The overwhelming result is beautifully responsive control behind the wheel; car and driver connect symbiotically to deliver perfect excitement and dynamic drivability. A 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine lays at its heart, delivering impressive acceleration - zero to 60 in just 4.4 seconds and a speed of up to 195 mph. Ever since the nameplate launched in the 1950s as an upgrade to the DB2, Vantage has been synonymous with performance, becoming Aston Martin's flagship sports car, one of the great Aston Martins appearing in various James Bond films. While the Vantage's exterior design has enjoyed significant advancements since first being driven by 007, echoes of the magnificent bloodline can still be seen in its refined exterior. Inside, the distinctive cockpit, the feel is one of absolute focus and functionality. A lower driving position creates a more immersive experience, intimately connecting the driver with the car and the road. So whether you’re going for the regular Vantage or an armored-up experience expect raw athleticism and an enticing performance. Raw and instinctual. Always. Starting at $142,086. No matter which Aston Martin you choose, you will be in good company. Aston Martin cars have been featured in many James Bond movies - and the new 007 film, No Time to Die, is no exception. No Time to Die actually features two legendary Aston Martins from James Bond’s past - the DB5 and the V8 Saloon. And it will feature the 2021 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera. The latter is a concept car. We’re sure they all have shocking door handles! Check out our latest: aston martin for sale

This will draw a thief to your vehicle. Invest in items that make your vehicle look more secure. This could include something like a steering wheel lock. You may also like: The Entire Audi Lineup is Getting Dramatic Updates for 2023 Want to go even further? The National Insurance Crime Bureau has created a layered approach to protecting your car in four areas: Common sense Visible and audible devices Immobilizing devices Tracking devices According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau you should look at: 1. Common sense. You wouldn’t believe the number of cars that are stolen each year simply because someone left the keys in the ignition with the doors unlocked. It still happens in 2022! So, always remove your keys from the ignition and lock those doors. Did you know that in some places it’s actually illegal to leave a vehicle unattended with the keys in the ignition. 2. Don’t leave keys ANYWHERE in the car or even hide them on the outside. Thieves can and will find them. 3.  Always park in well-lit streets and parking lots. You can make your car even more secure by backing your car into a parking space or driveway to make it more visible to passersby and harder for the thief to work under the hood without being spotted by law-abiding citizens. Other anti-car theft quick tips: Remember to roll up your windows completely. Avoid leaving your car in parking lots for longer than necessary. Keep your valuable out of site. That means cell phones, purses and wallets. In certain cities, a steering wheel lock is a good idea and will indeed deter thieves. Last, and maybe most importantly, if you see a thief making his way into your car, dial 9-1-1 but don’t approach the criminal. Safety comes first. Always. Finally, you might also consider investing in an immobilizing devices. These devices act by shutting off your car’s electrical or fuel supply. If the criminal can’t actually drive a way with the car there’s going to be no car theft. You can also buy a tracking device for your vehicle that allows police to track down your car and recover it quickly. Don’t try to do this yourself. You are given maximum freedom of choice with regard to the combinations they use, enabling an unprecedented level of exclusivity to be achieved, with a range of new solutions and innovative materials to choose from – the result of continuous experimentation and the influence of new trends from outside the automotive industry. Ferrari's Tailor Made Program highlights: • Provides an array of standard (homologated) leathers and Alcantara for the interior, along with offering several out-of-range, semi-aniline leather options. • The Configurator program is available to facilitate the design; however, in New York, there is also a dedicated Atelier Photoshop expert to enhance the build beyond the Configurator e.g. design liveries • Atelier is ideal for clients who want a degree of personalization and the opportunity to infuse their personality into a design, without requiring highly-specialized interior materials. Custom Order Your Car with Ferrari Atelier • The essence of Tailor Made is the interior. A design is created around a concept, guided by the program’s three pillars: Classica, Scuderia & Inedita. • The program applies highly specialized, non-automotive materials. Some of the many examples include furniture leather, technical fabrics, luxury textiles, suiting, etc. These materials can be placed anywhere in the car, excluding homologated areas. Tailor Made also offers special seat patterns. • Photoshop is used entirely to design the car; there is no Configurator for Tailor Made. • Tailor Made clients typically have a great appreciation for all design, enjoy a very high level of unique, personalized products, and exhibit the willingness & patience to embark on a more involved design journey with Ferrari. The New Fully Electric Bentley is So Powerful You Might Need to Adjust the Settings

The New Fully Electric Bentley is So Powerful You Might Need to Adjust the Settings.

The future of Bentley is electric. And powerful. Perhaps too powerful for some drivers with a weak stomach. The British luxury automaker has grabbed headlines with its stated intention of going “fully electric” by the year 2030. The future of Bentley is electric. And powerful. In fact, Bentley CEO Adrian Hallmark says the marquee’s first EV, simply called the Bentley EV, could churn out as much as 1,400 horsepower when it hits showrooms in 2025. That means near-effortless acceleration and a zero to 60 of just 1.5 seconds. "If we're 650 hp now with GT Speed, we will be double that with the BEV,” Hallmark told Automotive News Europe. "But from a zero to 60 mph point of view, there are diminishing returns. The problem is, it's uncomfortable. And then it just becomes (nauseating)." more To mitigate that fact, drivers of the Bentley EV will be able to select a slower acceleration speed if such a lightning quick acceleration makes them feel sick to their stomach. "You can have zero to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds. (For weaker stomachs). Or it can be switched to 1.5 seconds,” Hallmark explained. Bentley Hybrid Car Range The quiet, silky smooth power of the Bentley 12-cylinder engine will be replaced by an even smoother - and quieter - electric motor. The new Bentley will ride atop a PPE platform. That's the same one that sits beneath the Audi Q6 E-Tron and Porsche Macan EV. Bentley’s "Beyond100" strategy has the automaker committing to becoming a global pioneer in the sustainable auto industry. And it means becoming fully carbon-neutral, from the Bentley factory to the cars it creates – all by 2030. Bentley’s suppliers are also expected to meet minimum sustainability standards – “and by 2025, our entire global retailer network will be carbon neutral too,” the company said in a recent statement. Bentley Motors EV Interior Moreover, the strategy has accelerated in recent months with the announcement of the ‘Five-in-Five’ plan, which will envisions and plans out five all-electric Bentley vehicles launched – one each year from 2025 onward – at which point the entire Bentley product range will be electric A growing number of vehicles across Bentley’s  Flying Spur and Bentayga ranges are already available with hybrid powertrains. And they are being joined by the Bentayga EWB, Continental GT and GTC. In terms of styling of the new EV, little is known. "What we will not do is try and make them look like electric cars," Hallmark told the media recently. Bentley Motors EV Interior Illuminator Console Two years ago, Bentley previewed its fully electric future with the EXP 100 GT, a concept model whose sleek shape and scissor-like doors caused a stir. The iconic British luxury automaker is investing $3.4 billion over the coming decade to build electric vehicles at its facility in Crewe, United Kingdom. Before the arrival of its first EV, the brand intends to offer hybrid versions of every model in its lineup. The luxury automaker plans to exclusively offer electrified models, including all-electric and plug-in hybrids, beginning in 2026. Bentley Motors EV Rear You can currently purchase plug-in hybrid versions of its Bentayga SUV for $160,000 and Flying Spur sedan for $208,000. The Bentayga already encompasses innovative technology and mind-blowing luxury to create a vehicle that outperforms everywhere you go. Not only do you enjoy all the comfort of a leather- and tech-filled interior but you can choose from a variety of options to make this vehicle truly yours. Bentley Motors EV Seats For the powertrain you choose from the 443-hp hybrid with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 and an electric motor or the 542-hp twin-turbo V-8 that will get you from zero to 60 in just 3.8 sections. All Bentay gas utilize an eight-speed automatic transmission and come standard with all-wheel drive. You might also like: Porsche Has Invested $83 Million in Rimac. What is the Croatian Hypercar Company Doing Now? The British automaker is taking another impressive step toward its electric future with the Flying Spur Hybrid. This new hybrid Bentley highlights the British automaker’s ability to combine sustainable design with exquisite and luxurious craftsmanship along with truly effortless performance. Bentley Motors Going Fully Electric It’s the most advanced Flying Spur ever built thanks to the latest technology that brings three driving modes via its combined gasoline-powered engine and electric power. At your fingertips: EV Drive mode allows you to make short journeys on electric power alone. Hybrid mode enables the car to toggle between the petrol engine and electric power, to make your journey as simple as possible. The third option is Hold mode, where your car relies mainly on its petrol engine with some electric propulsion, balanced by regenerative braking to recoup battery power. The Flying Spur Hybrid is the second Bentley hybrid to be launched. With a 2.9 liter twin-turbocharged petrol engine and a powerful 100kW electric motor, the Flying Spur Hybrid offers effortless power as you surge forward into your day. Thanks to the additional torque delivered by the electric motor, you can get from zero to 60 in just 4.1 seconds and reach a top speed of 177 mph. And when you are in electric mode, traveling within the lap of luxury is a near silent experience, making this the perfect car for quiet conversation or even reading a book while someone else does the driving. Bentley Fully-Electric Car In fact, for passengers, it’s a little like flying in your own private jet. But lest you forget it’s a Bentley, you can still make out the unmistakable exhaust note arising from the car’s quad oval tailpipes. It’s a beautiful sound.
