Recently, the glitz and glamour of the largest fashion show on the West Coast took place in El Paseo. The 12th annual Fashion Week El Paseo 2017 was hosted at The Harsch Investment Properties Tent at The Gardens on El Paseo in Palm Desert, CA. This premier fashion event presented runway shows featuring a star-studded line-up of top designers from across the globe, including exciting trunk shows, and more. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars as well as BMW sponsored this breath taking, beautiful event and displayed some of their finest motor vehicles. The Design Your Own Dawn competition allowed Fashion Week goers to use the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars online configurator to create their own custom vehicle, judged based on the vehicle’s reflection of the year’s fashion trends. The unique structure of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport made it especially challenging to design the removable roof module of the new version. Consequently, the monocoque was reinforced along the sills and transmission tunnel. Lamborghini takes us back in time, with a look at the Diablo. The Diablo was destined to become the worthy heir of the renowned Miura and Countach. The new supercar was produced between 1990 and 2001 and led to the creation of several variations. The executive team at Lamborghini had wished for a maximum speed of at least 195mph, and the engineers made this wish come true. With a top speed of 200mph and acceleration of 60mph in 4.5 seconds, the Diablo claimed the highest position in the super sports cars segment. The Diablo was extremely successful in terms of sales: almost 3,000 units were sold across the world. For the first time ever, the Audi RS 3 is available in North America. Specifically developed for the US market, the new RS 3 offers a strong entry point into the RS lineup. The RS 3 wears the signature Audi single-frame grille with three-dimensional honeycomb design and quattro script. An aluminum-matte front blade extends across the width of the vehicle and connects to the large front air intakes, and wider front wheel arches provide design cues to the vehicle’s Quattro DNA leaving a breathtaking appeal.   The RS 3 is equipped with the storied Audi five-cylinder engine which produces its unique sound and features RS-specific interior and exterior design details. Producing 400hp, the five-cylinder engine has a total displacement of 2.5 liters, which equals up to 160hp per liter. The maximum torque of 354lb-ft is available at engine speeds as low as 1,700 rpm and remains constant up to 5,850 rpm. As a result, the RS 3 can sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and has a top track speed of 155mph. Impressive? Nine remarkable Wraith Music vehicles were created for a select number of Rolls-Royce customers and music luminaries including Roger Daltrey CBE (The Who), Sir Ray Davies (The Kinks), Giles Martin, Francis Rossi OBE (Status Quo) and Nick Mason (Pink Floyd). The cars were presented at London’s famous Sanderson Hotel by the artists who have created them in partnership with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.  A portion of each of the car’s value will be donated to charities selected by each musician, including The Teenage Cancer Trust.
